Hi! I'm Mandy, a homestead and pet caretaker based in southeast Michigan.
I provide a unique level of expertise and peace of mind to all sorts of animal owners. Whether you have a single goldfish or a whole herd of sheep, you can count on me to look after your furbabies. No job is too big or small -- homesteaders, hobby farmers, and exotic pet owners deserve a vacation, too!
SERVICES AND FEES
Each and every visit includes photo and/or video text updates of your furbabies, and a full report of your home and pets' well being -- free of charge!
INDOOR PET CARE
Simple indoor visits include feeding, watering, administering medication, and basic cleanup.
Walks, playtime, enrichment, and/or snuggles can also be provided. Whatever your pet needs to feel safe and secure.
Mail, rotation of lights, and watering plants can also be arranged.
$30 / hour
(no travel fee within 10 mile radius)
HOMESTEAD CARE
Simple outdoor visits include feed, water, medication, gathering of eggs, perimeter check, and basic cleanup.
Mail, rotation of lights, and garden/harvest care can also be arranged.

OVERNIGHT STAYS
/ BOARDING
Custom care for your home and/or hobby farm. Staying overnight provides extra security for your property and safety for your pets.
I also provide daytime or overnight boarding in my own home for pets that are vaccinated and compatible with my own pets.

I grew up caring for all sorts of animals on a 200 acre farm in the heartland of Missouri.
My experience spans decades and includes working for Purina Farms educating
the public on the importance of farm animals, working at a pet store, fostering and rehabilitating stray dogs and cats, and training service dogs for people with ambulatory disabilities. I have experience with exotic birds, reptiles, chickens, rabbits, saltwater fish, goats, pigs, cows, and horses (just to name a few).
Now I live in SE Michigan and have my own menagerie of pets. I am a novelist and a mom, which keeps me busy, but I always have time for more floof in my life!
I am willing to care for any of your creatures, great or small. I don't mind difficult weather or working in muck, and I'm open to any unique needs your pet requires.
Does your cat like to be swaddled and carried around like a baby?
I can do that.
Does your dog need more exercise and brain stimulation than most?
I got you.
Do your goats and pigs rely on back scratches before bedtime?
No worries.
Do you need someone to sit and drink coffee with your chickens in the morning?
I'll bring my mug.

Whatever your needs, whether it be a basic in-and-out pet check or a full day of love and affection, I can customize a care plan. I'm happy to learn your pet's unique quirks and work with you to provide dependable, one-of-a-kind care.
I always send daily photos/videos of your pets, as well as reports on how they are doing. Facetime can also be arranged. I know how hard it can be to venture away from your fur babies for any length of time -- your peace of mind is worth the extra effort.

The Dream
What is Mulberry Acres?
Growing up, I could always be found roaming the farm, snacking on wild mulberries, followed by a gaggle of cows, barn cats, and a dog or two. Those sun-soaked days are my fondest memories. One taste of a mulberry and I'm transported back there. That's how Mulberry Acres got its name.
But homestead and pet care is only the first step on a much longer journey. Our big dream is to one day create a place of refuge for animals of all kinds: Mulberry Acres Rescue. The revenue earned through donations and our pet sitting services go toward making this dream a reality.
We currently have two rescue parrots we are caring for at Mulberry Acres: Simon, a seven-year-old white-bellied caique who could no longer be cared for by his previous owners, and DayZ, a traumatized one-year-old green cheek conure who I am currently rehabilitating.
