Green Cheek Conure ~ 3 years old

DayZ got her name from the popular video game where players fight to survive by any means necessary. This was fitting for our girl, since she is fiercely independent and trusts no one.

 

DAYZ'S STORY: DayZ was rescued from a pet store where she was deemed unsalable. She was purchased several times because of her beautiful coloring, but always returned back to the store due to her frightened nature and her favorite pastimes (see below). She sat waiting for a home for almost a year before we took her in. She has been with us for two years and is just now trusting us enough to land on our shoulders and nibble on our clothes. We are still working on her fear of humans, but she has come incredibly far!

 

FAVORITE PASTIMES: 

• Screeching at the top of her lungs for hours on end

• Destroying beloved household items and mementos

• Evicting other flockmates from their cages

• Chewing on drywall, window trim, and plants

• Plotting revenge with the other two green cheek conures, Elvis and Peety, affectionately referred to as The Girl Squad.
